Six clubs from the National Leagues will compete alongside two Forces sides for the inaugural London 7s Cup as part of the Middlesex Club 7s competition at Richmond on Sunday May 1.
The following clubs have confirmed their participation: Esher, Rosslyn Park, London Scottish, Royal Air Force Spitfires, Army Chieftains, Richmond, Westcombe Park and Loughborough. The winner will go on to qualify for a full place in the Middlesex Charity 7s at Twickenham Stadium in July.
Men’s, women’s and student teams at all levels from throughout the county and beyond will also compete for an array of silverware in the Cup, Bowl and Vase competitions. The first match kicks off at 10.30am, with the final of the London 7s Cup taking place at 5.10pm and the Club 7s Cup final at 6.40pm.
The 2011 Middlesex Club 7s takes place at Richmond Athletic Ground on Sunday May 1 and with thrilling rugby, good food, plenty of beer and the bank holiday Monday to recover, it promises to be a great day out. Tickets cost just £5 each, part of which will be donated to Help For Heroes, so not only is the Club 7s supporting grass roots rugby, it’s doing it’s bit for our boys too.
