Don’t miss the action as Chiefs take on Sharks in this year’s play-offs – wherever you are in the world
Exeter v Sale live stream: How to watch the Premiership semi-final
The Gallagher Premiership play-offs are familiar territory for Exeter Chiefs, the defending champions. This is their sixth successive appearance in the semi-finals and they have won the previous five.
In contrast, Sale Sharks haven’t made this stage of the competition since 2006, when they went on to lift the trophy.
While the semi-final between Bristol and Harlequins is expected to centre on running rugby, this one is likely to be all about physicality as both Exeter and Sale are known for the power of their packs.
Chiefs have converted that power into points, scoring more tries than any other team in the league (93) and conceding the fewest (40).
Yet Sale did out-score them three tries to two when they met in the final regular round last Saturday, although Exeter recovered from being 19-3 down and reduced to 14 men to win 20-19. Will that give them a mental edge at Sandy Park this weekend?
