AT THE Wales shirt launch this week it was clear that the players had a lot of input in the new jersey. While most people are concerned with what the shirt looks like, the Wales squad had also put in a particular request with regards the material.
As with all modern-day jerseys it’s skintight but the military-grade fabric is also strong and doesn’t stretch, making it more difficult for opponents to grab hold of it. To prove just how strong and durable the material is the players put it to the test in training, trying to rip it by using it as a rope for tug of war and to do chin ups with. And the results? The players seem happy with the results of the technological advancements, now Wales just need to get the right results on the pitch. The squad are currently in Poland as part of their World Cup preparations and will wear the new shirt for the first time in the warm-up Tests against England and Argentina in August.
