Paddy Power are refunding all losing single outright and handicap bets (including in-running) placed on the RBS 6 Nations clash between Wales and Ireland at the Millennium Stadium.
The bookmaker is returning over £175,000 to hard-done-by punters following Mike Phillips’ controversial 50th minute try from a quickly-taken line-out which stole victory from Ireland as Matthew Rees had clearly used a different ball for the set piece.
One lucky punter will be toasting Paddy’s generous initiative tonight having placed a bet of €14,000 on an Ireland victory this morning.
Paddy Power said “This was black and white burglary of the highest order. We cannot expect our punters to be out of pocket because of such gut-wrenchingly poor referring. We’re disgusted at the result but more than happy to look after our customers.”
