Danny Cipriani’s ill-fated stay in the Super 15 went from bad to worse with confirmation that he will stay in Australia when his team, the Melbourne Rebels travel to South Africa to play the Bulls in Pretoria and Cheetahs in Bloemfontein over the next two weeks.
The talented Cipriani, who won eight caps with England, was suspended by his fellow team-mates last week for breaking his self-imposed curfew following the defeat by New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney.
“Following meetings between players, coaches and management, it was decided he will not travel,” a statement read.
“Danny will train with the other non-touring players over the next two weeks and will continue his community engagement with local clubs and schools during this time.”
