IRELAND’S WOMEN pulled off a memorable 17-14 win over New Zealand in the second round of games at the Women’s World Cup in Paris. They are the first Irish international side to inflict a defeat on New Zealand and it was the Black Ferns first loss at a Women’s World Cup since 1991! In the day’s other results, USA beat Kazakhstan 47-7, Australia overcame Wales 25-3, England triumphed over Spain 45-5, Canada defeated Samoa 42-7 and France smashed South Africa 55-3.
