All Blacks replacement #10 Aaron Cruden will not require surgery on his knee injury, sustained against France, during the Rugby World Cup final in Auckland on Sunday. The All Black first five-eighth was thrust into the limelight after both Dan Carter and Colin Slade suffered similar groin injuries earlier on in the competition.

All Blacks Doctor Deb Robinson confirmed that Aaron had been in Auckland today (Friday) seeing a specialist who confirmed surgery wasn’t required.

“He will have to wear a knee brace for the next three to four weeks before he gradually returns to training over the following month, and is expected to make a full recovery,” Dr Robinson said.
