Do you come from a sporty family?
Mum played netball for England and my grandad played rugby for Cambridge University. I played a lot of different sports and chose rugby over cricket when I was 13.
When did you first link up with the Saints?
I was at Wasps Academy and Dusty Hare saw me play for South West U16 and asked my mum if I would like to join Saints Academy. I had been a season-ticket holder there since I was five so I was really pleased.
When did you first play for England?
I played for England U16 in Rome then had two years with England U18, then the U20s last season and this.
What were your aims for this season?
I was hoping to get some first-team rugby for Northampton but I didn’t expect to get so much. When Luther Burrell got called up by England it gave me a chance.
Is it a big step up?
It’s a massive step up – there’s a lot less thinking time. Having good players around me helps.
What are England’s chances at the Junior World Championship?
We showed in the Six Nations we could play some really good rugby, but there’s a lot more pressure on us this year.
RW verdict: A world champion with England U20 in 2013, this centre is getting better and better.
