LONDON IRISH have signed exciting 18-year-old tight head prop, Richard Palframan, from Durban-based Super Rugby side The Sharks.
Palframan already has the physical attributes to compete with the best in his position. The 6″1′ and 118kg tight head has made five appearances for the Sharks’ under-19s in their opening five matches this season.
He is an exceptional ball carrier who continuously breaks the gain line and has a solid scrummaging and lineout game.
Commenting on his new contract, Richard Palframan, who attended Rondebosch Boys’ High School, said: “I am very grateful to the Sharks for the opportunities they have given me, but the chance to join London Irish was too good to deny.”
London Irish Director of Rugby, Brian Smith said: “He is an outstanding prospect. He is a very physical player and exceptionally good with ball in hand. He will work with Glenn Delaney to enhance his all round game and continue his progression. We believe we have real gem on our hands.”
