Newcastle Falcons’ New Zealand contingent have joined forces to support the relief appeal following the devastating earthquake in Christchurch. During today’s media session scheduled for 12.30pm, Jimmy Gopperth and Jeremy Manning will be available to talk about what they are doing to support the appeal.
The earthquake struck the New Zealand city more than a week ago and with an increasing death toll and widespread damage. Falcons players Jimmy Gopperth, Jeremy Manning, Tane Tu’ipulotu, Filipo Levi, Brent Wilson and Andrew Van der Heijden have each donated one of their playing shirts to be auctioned off at Friday’s Aviva Premiership match against Harlequins.
They have also arranged for some of the non playing members of the squad on the day to be in the concourse bars before the game with a bucket collection.
Harlequins have also donated a shirt signed by players Nick Evans, James Johnston and Maurie Fa’asavalu.
If you wish to bid for any of these shirts and to help the players raise money for an incredibly worthwhile cause please email johns@newcastle-falcons.co.uk with your bid before 5pm on Friday 4 March.
Bidding on the night will take place both within the corporate areas and by Doddie Weir at the Man of the Match presentation that will take place in the West Stand concourse bar after the game.
