ONLY one of our nine pundits correctly predicted who would win each of the three Six Nations fixtures on the second weekend of this year’s tournament – and that was Rugby World editor Paul Morgan! Yes – it seems he really does know what he’s talking about!
All nine of the coaches, former players and journalists who are battling for the honour of being Rugby World’s 2011 Predictions champion tipped England to beat Italy, but only Morgan and Robert Jones went for Wales to beat Scotland. Four of the competitors predicted France would turn over Ireland at the Aviva Stadium: Morgan, Stuart Barnes, Kenny Logan and Irish legend Keith Wood.
So, with two of the five rounds gone, Morgan is leading the Rugby World competition with a stunning six out of six results correct. Snapping at his heels with five are Jones and Wood, while Barnes, Logan and Philippe Saint-Andre have all scored four out of six so far.
Who will come up trumps with their round three predictions? Time will tell…
