Bellbird Walk and Honeydew Walk are part of the stunning Lake Rotoiti Nature Recovery project where bellbirds and tui welcome you to their protected haven. Lake Rotoiti is easily reached from Nelson by following State Highway 6 south to State Highway 63 where you turn right to reach the village of St Arnaud and Lake Rotoiti.

For people who haven’t kayaked before, a guided trip is recommended. If you are renting a kayak or going on a guided trip, discuss your kayak trip with your chosen kayak operator before booking huts or campsites. For independent kayak rentals, a minimum of two people and previous sea-kayaking experience are essential.
